"THERE CAN be few experiences quite as potent
as being on a demonstration of millions of people, the feeling of
solidarity, of ownership of the streets, of the power of organised
protest and knowing that across the world in over three dozen major
cities, the numbers demonstrating are running into maybe hundreds of
millions. We are literally a part of history.
But, as powerful a message as the anti-war war
demonstrations are sending, they can't alone stop this war.
This requires considerable organisation not merely
the raw power of numbers but a sustained and coordinated campaign of
mass, civil disobediance.
It also requires a worked out strategy and a clear
vision.
The Committee for a Workers International (CWI),
with members already organised in 36 countries, on every continent, is
seeking to build an international party of socialism.
The Socialist Party, the CWI's section in England
and Wales, is a strong, cohesive and democratic organisation of workers
and youth, with roots in communities in almost every town and city, and
support across a wide range of trade unions.
We are striving to become a decisive political force
capable of channeling working peoples' anger into mass campaigns for 'system
change'.
Which is why we need you.
Don't leave your opposition to war to a few hours on
the streets of London. Join the Socialist Party in our work to build a
socialist world, free from terror and war."
