Coventry school strike against becoming an academy
Industrial action at Tile Hill Woods school in Coventry has been stepped up against plans to turn the school into an academy. Following a strike of around 20 teachers two weeks ago, on Tuesday this week 70 were on strike (from unions NUT and NASUWT) out of a total of 80 school staff.
There was talk of potential coordinated strike action with union members in other local schools that are facing the threat of being academies.
