Enthusiastic support for PCS call centres strike
Thousands of call centre workers supported the strike by the PCS civil service union in the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) on 18 April over inhuman working conditions and a bad service to benefit claimants.
One of the many pickets, Carol Dunne, PCS rep in the Coventry call centre told the Socialist: "This is about terms and conditions of our staff, general working conditions, and the draconian management we face.
"It is making people ill.
"We will be looking at further action including an overtime ban and a work to rule."
