Continuing the pensions battle: PCS consultative ballot

Members of the Public and Commercial Services union (PCS) are voting in a consultation over the next steps in fighting the government’s assault on public sector pensions. Over 250,000 workers will be voting in a ballot which closes on 16 March, asking whether they reject the government’s pensions proposals and whether they support the joint union campaign for fair pensions for all.

The result will be considered at a special meeting of the union’s national executive on 19 March.

The union’s executive has unanimously rejected the government’s latest offer and is discussing with unions representing members of the civil service, education and health pension schemes about taking joint strike action on 28 March.
