PCS 'long weekend' of walkouts

Almost 250,000 members of the Public and Commercial Services union are taking part in a 'long weekend' of walkouts as part of their three-month campaign over cuts to pay, pensions and conditions.

These walkouts all form part of a three-month programme of industrial action and protests, which began with a national strike on budget day on 20 March.

The union has asked for talks over cuts to civil service pay, pensions and terms and conditions, but the government has refused to negotiate.
