Lincoln organises against the far right
LINCOLN AGAINST Racism and Fascism (LARF), a broad alliance involving trade unions, community activists, voluntary organisations and political activists including the Socialist Party have called a demonstration against the presence of the far right in Lincolnshire for 2 December.
The demonstration has been called in response to the 'not guilty' verdict against Nick Griffin and Mark Collett on charges of inciting racial hatred as well as well as recent local press reports suggesting that the BNP are intending to stand a number of candidates in next year's local council elections.
LARF's campaign is gaining more and more support, especially amongst young people. We have gained a massive echo among the youth of Lincoln and the surrounding area who fully agree with our slogan that 'The BNP Have No Solutions'. The Socialist Party is helping to organise campaign activities but also putting forward the need for a socialist solution to the problem of racism and fascism.
Marc Glasscoe
The demonstration will meet in front of the atrium at the University of Lincoln, on Brayford Wharf East at 11.30am on Saturday 2 December. Speakers are expected from the trade unions and other organisations. For more information contact Marc Glasscoe on 07708 852675.
