£100 billion Trident?

BRITAIN'S NUCLEAR weapons programme could cost £100 billion over the next 50 years, anti-nuclear campaigners CND claim. This appalling figure was based on the government's own estimates. CND said that running costs for the final 16 years of the present Trident system would be up to £31 billion, while replacing the weapons will be up to £59 billion with another £20 billion in procurement costs.
