Tamil Solidarity 20 April Day of Action

On Friday 20 April, there will be a Tamil Solidarity Day of Action. The campaign's international coordinator, TU Senan, will participate in a symposium on 'Sri Lanka, the aftermath' from 5.30 to 6.30pm, with Paul Murphy Socialist Party MEP for Dublin, Frances Harrison, the former BBC Sri Lanka correspondent and others. This will take place at the Southbank Centre, London, by Waterloo Bridge and near to Waterloo and Embankment stations.

This discussion is linked to the new play, Looking for Kool, being performed at the Royal Festival Hall on 12-15 and 19-22 April, by renowned playwright Rani Moorthy, a supporter of Tamil Solidarity and artistic director of Rasa productions.

The day of action will also see campaigning activities and a public meeting at 7.30pm at the University of London Union, Malet Street, near Euston station: A way forward for the Eelam struggle - What's the role of the Diaspora?

Tamil Solidarity was set up in 2009 in response to the terrible slaughter of thousands of Tamil people by Sri Lanka's armed forces, the siege in Sri Lanka's north-eastern coastal strip, the lack of medical aid, nutrition, water and sanitation.
