The meeting will aim to deal with many vital questions such as:

  • What was the choice for working people in the election?

  • What does the result mean for the future of the "peace process"?

  • Can the national qubestion be solved by a capitalist government?

  • Will there be any improvement in living standards for workers and poor people?


The CWI is an international socialist organization fighting for the interests of working class people world-wide. 

It has members, affiliated parties and organizations in nearly 40 countries, including Sri Lanka, where the Party is called the United Socialist Party (USP).


The United Socialist Party, the Sri Lankan sister party to the Socialist Party in England and Wales, is the only party in Sri Lanka consistently defending the right of the Tamil-speaking people to self-determination. It campaigned in the elections on an independent socialist programme.
