Segun Sango on a speaking tour

Protest against fuel price rises in Nigeria

Segun is the general secretary of our Nigerian sister party, the Democratic Socialist Movement (DSM – the CWI in Nigeria).

Segun is also chair of the National Conscience Party, (NCP) in Nigeria’s capital city Lagos. The National Conscience Party is a mass workers’ party in Nigeria that we are part of.

The Democratic Socialist Movement has played a leading role in the trade union led struggle against the government imposed fuel price increases, through the Campaign for Democratic and Workers’ Rights in Nigeria (CDWRN) which has defeated the Nigerian government on this dispute through a number of strikes.

Segun has been prominent in this campaign.

This has been an essential development of our work in Nigeria, where our party has had an influence in Nigerian politics, shaking the whole establishment.
