Release Nigerian students now!

Three Nigerian student activists from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile Ife, are still in jail on made up charges.

On Wednesday 14 November there is due to be a court ruling on whether bail applications can be heard for two imprisoned Democratic Socialist Movement (DSM) members, Olatunde Dairo (aka Barry Blacky), the OAU students' union public relations officer, and Taiwo Hassan Soweto, coordinator of the Education Rights Campaign (ERC), who were both arrested on 11 October.

There will be a bail application hearing on Monday 19 November at the same court in Osogbo for Saburi Akande Akinola, the OAU students' union president, who has been held since 31 July.

The immediate campaign for bail, but also for the dropping of all charges and the re-instatement of all suspended OAU students must continue.
