70 Dead & 500 wounded by riot police in Kazakhstan

See: http://www.socialistworld.net/doc/5489

Kazakhstan oil workers and their supporters had today planned a peaceful demonstration in Zhanaozen. The authorities, however, afraid of a powerful show of support for the strikers have decided to use internal troops against them and are resorting to bloodshed. Local hospitals are not able to cope with the scale of death and injury.

Please send immediate protests to the Kazakhstan Embassy in London: london@kazembassy.org.uk
and to the Kazakhstan Foreign Ministry: mid@mid.kz
and messages of support to:
Otekeeva0103@mail.ru
with copies to kazakhstansolidarity@gmail.com
