Hazel Must Go! opposes cuts to Salford NHS

On 30 March, the Manchester Evening News announced 750 proposed job cuts at Salford Royal Hospital. There are also proposals to close Cleveland House community mental health team. The Hazel Must Go campaign is opposing these cuts.

Hazel Must Go, will be contesting disgraced ex-minister Hazel Blears' seat in the general election under the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition banner. Candidate David Henry said: "We are in complete opposition to any cuts in the health service in Salford. Where is Hazel Blears on this issue? In the past she at least pretended to care about cuts in her back yard - her silence on this occasion is deafening."

  • 14 April 7pm, Hazel Must Go election launch and fundraiser, The Old Pint Pot, 2 Adelphi Street, Salford M3 6EN. The evening will feature local bands and performers. Requested donation £3.
  • 25 April 7pm, Mark Steel Gig - The Dancehouse, Oxford Rd. Manchester. One third of the proceeds will go to the TUSC - Hazel Must Go Campaign. Tickets can be booked by emailing blearsmustgo@gmail.com or phoning Steve on 07817434240.
