Debt balloons go up in Brighton Kemptown
Dave Hill, TUSC parliamentary candidate for Brighton Kemptown, released 168 balloons on 24 April, each one representing £1 billion to symbolise the government deficit.
He presented an alternative 'socialist budget' to highlight the billions of pounds wasted every year on tax evasion and avoidance by the rich, wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, PFI deals, nuclear weapons and so on.
Consequently the TUSC alternative of investment in homes, education, health and all public services, under democratic public control, gained a lot of local publicity.
