Unison health backs £10 an hour call

STOP PRESS: Unison health conference has backed a motion from Mid Yorkshire branch calling for a £10 an hour minimum wage.

The conference also saw the union’s general secretary Dave Prentis say that members would be balloted if NHS enhanced unsocial working hours pay was removed. But such a battle would need a serious strike strategy. Earlier this year NHS strike action over pay was called off after little was gained.
