Socialist Party debates with leader of Southampton Council on BBC Radio Solent

Nick Chaffey, Anti-cuts campaigner and the Socialist Party's regional organiser in Southampton, debated with Southampton council leader, Royston Smith. "We don't accept the argument that there is no money to pay for public services.

"This is a deficit created by the bankers", said Nick Chaffey. The government has allowed bankers to have a bonus pot of £500 million in the RBS bank this year, he said.

Listen on BBC iplayer - the debate starts at 1:05:00.
