Pensions inflation-link case in court on Monday

Seven trade unions will take the government to court on Monday, 20 February over changes to the way public sector pensions are calculated.

They are appealing against a High Court decision last year to approve the switch from the Retail Price Index (RPI) to the usually-lower Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the uprating of pensions.

When: 8.30am Monday 20 February, 2012
Where: The Royal Courts of Justice, Strand, London, WC2A 2LL

There will be a protest by trade union members to support the appeal outside the Royal Courts of Justice.

The unions involved are: the Public and Commercial Services union, the Communication Workers Union, the Fire Brigades Union, teachers' union NASUWT, the Prison Officers' Association, and the general unions Unison and Unite.
