Socialist Party members made a herculean effort to reach the target for the summer July to September quarter, raising over £11,000 in the final three weeks of the campaign

Socialist Party members raised an outstanding £35,264 in the April to June quarter of 2017. This broke the record for the second quarter, which itself had only been set in 2016

Socialist Party members and branches raised a record-breaking £140,535 in 2016. This is £17,000 more than we raised in 2015 (which was itself a record year) and the most we have raised in a year since the early 1990s.

We sold 100 copies of the Socialist on our campaign stall in Hanley in just three hours on 26 November. We were building support for the 4 March 2017 national march to defend our NHS from privatisation.

Hundreds protested in the centre of Exeter on 3 December against the decimation and degrading of Devon's NHS. Coming from all points of the compass and forming 'red lines' of marchers from different parts of the city, they cheered and clapped speakers from the community and the labour and trade union movement.

HSBC shut down the main Yorkshire Socialist Party membership subs account on 12 September without notice and without telling any of the signatories! We only found out the account was shut when members contacted us asking why their subs had been paid back into their account!

Socialist Party members raised a magnificent £30,772 between July and September, breaking the record for this period of the year. The quarterly fighting fund target had been increased to £30,000 at the beginning of July, a challenging total but one that we were determined to reach.

For the second year running, London Socialist Party held a successful BBQ social raising over £150 for the fighting fund - partly through the 'Great Socialist Bake-off'. The South London Reds won the five-a-side tournament.

Extra stalls in the North West as part of a fortnight of action raised around £1,000 fighting fund in early June on top of regular branch activities. We sold around 50 copies of the Socialist and a number of people asked for more information about joining the Socialist Party.

The political earthquake caused by the Brexit vote means the Socialist Party has to be prepared for anything, including a general election. We have to step up our fundraising to make sure we have the funds to reach as many people as possible over the coming months.
