Tunisia: thousands demonstrate

CWI members took part in the demonstrations at the recent World Social Forum in Tunis. They report that thousands of young people, women, unemployed people and activists came together to protest against terrorism, state repression, imperialism and Islamic State (IS), just weeks after 20 were killed by an IS gunman in a Tunis museum. Tweeting from the event @cio_tunisie commented:

■ 200 copies of our paper were sold at our stall yesterday. Download a copy: http://thawrablog.com

■ The mining town of Redeyef in #Tunisie was never as secure as when no cop could enter it and the local UGTT union federation was in control

■ Terror has two faces in #Tunisia: those who committed the attacks and those who are trying to exploit them against us

■ Capitalism won’t fall on its own. If rottenness was enough to make it fall, it would have fallen a long time ago
