In the 1980s the Labour council in Liverpool was led by Militant (forerunner of the Socialist Party). Whilst others cowered from Thatcher, we took her on. Following an inspiring battle - when the Labour and union leaders sided with the Tories, we gave her a bloody nose. What are the lessons for today?
