The Socialist Party website is committed to protecting your privacy. You can travel through most of our site without giving us any information about yourself. However if you request a service, such as to join our party, or ask for more information, we do need information to provide you with what you request, and this statement of privacy explains data collection and use in those situations. Collecting your Personal Information If you want to join or find out more about our party, we ask you to fill in a form. The only required fields are name, address, and email. You get a confirmation email and you can re-submit corrections if you wish. If you want to subscribe to The Socialist newspaper, we need your name and address, so that we can post your subscription to you. We collect data listing which of our pages are most frequently visited and by which types of users. This is aggregate data and does not identify any individual. These are generally called web logs, providing statistical information about the usefulness of various pages and designs. Bookshop: Your basket If you browse our bookshop you are given an order number, which your browser retains while it is open. This is a kind of cookie, which the bookshop asks your browser to retain only while it is open. No information is saved to your computer. If you place some books in your basket while browsing through our bookshop, then temporarily leave the website and return to it later without closing your browser, the books in your basket can be retrieved and displayed. But when you close your browser down without going to the checkout and buying the books, the information about the books in your basket is lost. We do not save this order number to your computer. We do not share the cookie with any third party. The cookie does not save any other information except the number of your order. We do not share any information you submit with any third parties. We will not sell, trade or rent your personal information to others.
