Blacklisted electrician stands his ground on right to protest

After two years of harassment against blacklisted electrician Steve Acheson, Scottish and Southern Electricity (S&SE) has backed down.

S&SE was threatening an injunction for trespass to stop Steve’s peaceful picket outside Fiddlers Ferry power station near Widnes in Cheshire. This attempt failed, as did their previous attempt using the Terrorism Act which was defeated in the Royal Court of Justice and reported in the Socialist at the time.

Unite activist Steve says:

“I’m made up with this. It’s not just for me, it’s for shop stewards everywhere.

It goes to show that even with all this anti-trade union legislation, if we stand our ground we can still defend our right to protest”. Steve’s battle against blacklisting continues.
