Anti-academy campaigners in Liverpool lobby their council

Parents are campaigning to stop Shorefields school in Liverpool from being turned into an academy. They successfully lobbied the city council on 24 May, with council leader Anderson pledging his "100% support" and councillors unanimously backing a call for parents to be balloted on the issue.

Parents and teachers are planning further action and have produced a fact sheet about why the academy plans should be opposed. Contact the campaign at dinglesos@hotmail.co.uk or 'Save Shorefields Dingle Sos' on Facebook.
