Kazakhstan: Vadim Kuramshin on hunger strike

Vadim Kuramshin, a prison rights campaigner arrested six months ago on trumped-up charges, started a hunger strike on Monday of this week (see article at end of: Kazakhstan – Workers struggle against bloody, corrupt regime).

He is refusing food in a desperate protest at the refusal of the judge to finish his trial. He was demanding the reinstatement of the jury and the dismissal of so-called evidence that bears no relation to the facts.

A hail of protests need to be sent urgently to the authorities listed below and to the Kazakhstan embassy.

Protests can influence the outcome of this farcical but deadly attack on this human rights lawyer who is a thorn in the side of the Nazarbayev regime.
