2 sisters food workers stand up and fight back

Chants could be heard in English, Urdu and Polish as over 200 workers braved the icy weather for a mass picket outside the depot of 2 Sisters Food Group in Smethwick, Birmingham.

The mainly Eastern European and Asian workforce were on strike against continual bullying from management and poverty pay of 6.22 an hour.

One young worker and Unite member told the Socialist: "you can keep letting them hold you down or you can stand up and fight back, and that's what we're doing."
