Campaign to save facilities for disabled children in Salford

Thirty people joined a protest against Salford council’s disgraceful proposals to send disabled children, who currently attend the Grange centre, to an adult facility.

Many children are on the autistic spectrum and would have extreme difficulty coping with change. The council won’t come clean about whether they will attend on different days – which could deny some adults the service they presently enjoy – or at the same times as adults, which poses many safeguarding issues.

Parents have started a facebook-based campaign, and an e-petition, but plenty of physical protests too, solidly supported by Salford Unison branch and Salford Against the Cuts. Contact SAVE THE GRANGE! on facebook for more info.
