Socialist Party members visited the picket line at Sharpak packaging in Yate, near Bristol, on Tuesday 2 December.

The Unite members are striking against management attempts to extend the working week and impose longer shifts on a Friday.

The company have refused to negotiate and have now told workers their contracts will be terminated and they must sign new ones by next year.

The union has been growing in the workplace, people are fed up of bullying management imposing changes and are determined that they won’t get away with it this time.

A programme of strike action is now being planned to force the company to the table.
