West London Socialist Party: Seattle council's struggle against big business on wealth tax

Thursday 1st November 2018, 7.30pm

West London Trades Union Club, 33-35 High Street Acton, London W3 6ND

A community campaign headed by socialist councillor Kshama Sawant committed Seattle council to implement a wealth tax on the likes of Amazon. However, within days of the resolution being passed, the Democrat majority on the council caved in to big business blackmail and the plan was dropped, despite vehement protests from Ksharma and local campaigners.
