Daylight robbery in Scotland!
After our return to work on Wednesday the mood was very tense. Our members had just been on two 48-hour strikes, covering two separate weeks. As we are paid weekly it was understood that we would lose two days pay for the next two weeks.
But Royal Mail made a decision to take it all in one week to try and break the strike.
The first my members knew about this was when they went to the bank and found they had only one day's wage.
Some are now facing bank and other charges because they had no chance to prepare for this.
After a meeting, the CWU members walked out in protest at how the management are treating them.
I was then pulled by the management and accused of inciting unofficial industrial action!
We agreed to return to work the following day but if any disciplinary action is taken against me, we will see another walk-out.
Gary Clark, Scotland No2 branch, CWU
