Marching against single status

Local government workers in Waltham Forest will march to the London borough’s town hall on Thursday 28 February in protest against “single status” pay cuts.

Refuse workers could lose £100 a week with street cleaners losing £70 a week. The government’s ‘efficiency’ review could make 300 council workers redundant.

Socialist Party members in Unison and Unite agree with equal pay for men and women, but not at the expense of other workers. We have fought for low-paid workers in the borough, and are now fighting to make sure that no one loses out.

Waltham Forest workers and residents are invited to bring banners, music, children and dustcarts to the demonstration, which will start at 5pm at the town square and march to the town hall to lobby councillors. Join us to march against pay cuts and job losses, and for better local services and decent pay for all.
