This… is ‘Workie’. Tory axeman Iain Duncan Smith spent £8.5 million on an ad campaign featuring a multicolour monster.

Why? The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) describes Workie as “a striking physical embodiment of the workplace pension”.

Of course. What better way to communicate with adults about pensions than with a multi-million-pound computer-generated soft toy?

Duncan Smith’s DWP has led the charge on barbaric cuts to jobs, welfare – and, yes, pensions.
