Scotland – Solidarity conference

THE FIRST policy conference of Solidarity – Scotland’s Socialist Movement on 3 March, was attended by 250 people, of whom 200 were registered delegates. This very positive and friendly conference heard Tommy Sheridan give a rousing speech.

A meeting in the town of Dalkeith two nights earlier showed the potential for the new party in the preparations for the Scottish Parliament elections on 3 May. Over 70 people heard local shop steward Allan Boyce give only his second public political speech, which was met with great enthusiasm. A fuller report will follow in a future issue of the socialist.
