Lamley Naa Amoako-Atta joined the Socialist Party last year in west London. She explains how she’s now helping us in our fundraising efforts.

The Socialist Party has a long-standing history of defending the working class. We fight day-to-day to oppose every cut – protesting, campaigning and spreading awareness. If the working class is organised, it has the potential power to stop the cuts and change society to benefit everyone.

The Socialist Party is funded solely by donations from our members and other working-class people. Those donations go towards making leaflets and placards, and other fundraising resources – collecting tins and card readers. These vital resources help us pass information to the public when we’re campaigning, along with keeping our members informed.

To ensure steady finances for the party, each quarter we set a ‘Fighting Fund’ target. The current target – due to end on 30 September – is £25,000. We have already raised over £10,000 (40%).

Socialist Party members have also organised bake sales, held quiz nights and even sold their used clothes online to help raise funds. Every penny helps keep the party alive and fight for a socialist society.

The Socialist Party is not financed by big businesses, but by ordinary people who like what we say, believe in what we fight for, and kindly donate to the cause. It’s because of you we can keep on fighting for the rights of the working class.
