Message from the Parti Sosialis Malaysia

We are calling on all socialists for solidarity and support in our
struggle for the right to exist as a party.

The application for registration will finally reach the courts on 10
April. We are organising a huge gathering outside and we are also
getting a number of organisations to do a watching brief.

Send messages of protest and support. You need to send them before 7
April to give us enough time to print them out. You can send or post
protest letters to the respective Malaysian embassies in your country.

Salam Perjuangan,
S.Arutchelvan
Secretary General

Socialists arrested in Kazakhstan protest

ON FRIDAY 31 March, four Socialist Resistance (CWI in Russia) members
were arrested in Moscow while taking part in a picket at the Kazakhstan
Embassy. They were protesting against the recent brutal repression of
residents in Alma-Ata in Kazakhstan (see article on www.socialistworld.net).

As the Moscow picket started, around 30 police swooped on the
protesters, and four Socialist Resistance comrades were arrested and
taken to a Moscow police station.

The police took this action despite the protesters following the
strict state regulations to hold a public protest, as they have often
done before.

The comrades appeared in court on 3 April and may now face a fine.
