Subscribe to a paper by workers, for workers

Tom Baldwin, The Socialist campaign organiser, South West

The enormous popularity of Jeremy Corbyn and the left-wing policies he is putting forward have rattled the establishment. Their mouthpieces in the capitalist press have made increasingly hysterical attacks, their pages full of distortions. Even so-called left leaning papers like the Mirror or Guardian have repeated the various myths, such as his being unelectable.

Media

The mask is slipping from the face of a supposedly balanced and objective media. Most newspapers and broadcasters are owned by billionaires and reflect their prejudices. Keen to protect their own power and wealth they fear their own readers. They scorn any attempt by workers to stand up for themselves.

The Socialist is a completely different paper. It is not owned by big business and it does not dance to their tune. Instead it is completely funded by our readers and supporters. It brings you all the news and analysis that matters to you from an unashamedly working class point of view. We report and support the struggles of workers and youth across Britain and the world.

Our readers are not just a passive audience, they contribute to the paper as well.

It really has its finger on the pulse of workers’ lives – many articles are first-hand accounts of struggles. We cover events that you won’t read about anywhere else, ignored by the mainstream press in favour of more celebrity gossip or adverts.

The Socialist is an essential news source that you should be reading every week. By taking out a direct debit subscription you can get the brand new issue delivered straight to your door each week.
