2 sisters food workers stand up and fight back

Chants could be heard in English, Urdu and Polish as over 200 workers braved the icy weather for a mass picket outside the depot of 2 Sisters Food Group in Smethwick, Birmingham.

The mainly Eastern European and Asian workforce were on strike against continual bullying from management and poverty pay of £6.22 an hour.

One young worker and Unite member told the Socialist: “you can keep letting them hold you down or you can stand up and fight back, and that’s what we’re doing.”
