27 November Demonstration

Join the Jaguar demo

Support Jaguar workers and join the March and Rally through Coventry city
centre from 10am on Saturday 27 November 2004

At the end of August 2004 Jaguar announced that it planned to cut vehicle
production at its three UK sites for the rest of the year. At the time, Jaguar
assured all interested parties that there would be no job losses as a result
of these production cuts. However, Ford later announced the end of production
at the Browns Lane plant in Coventry and effectively its intention to sack
1,150 workers.

Ford has breached agreements committing the company to ongoing investment
and a secure future for the plant. Browns Lane is among the top performing
plants in the Ford Motor Company globally.

The announcement of massive job losses has provoked huge anger among Jaguar
workers and the wider community. The TGWU and Amicus unions who are organising
the demo are asking union branches and supporters to bring banners, whistles
and flags and help the Jaguar workers in fighting for a future.
