Saltend construction workers call for national strike action

At a mass meeting of 400 locked-out Redhalls workers at Saltend this morning, the company’s offer of £3,000 each was unanimously rejected. It was not seen as satifactory in compensating for loss of earnings and severance and did not ensure any TUPE rights and future employment on the contract.

The mass meeting agreed to call for a national solidarity strike of construction workers throughout the industry on Tuesday 22 March in defence of the NAECI agreement.
