Can we change the system from within? Marx and Engels argued that the only way to change the economic system with lasting effect is revolution. However, there have historically been thinkers on the left arguing that gradually reforming the current capitalist system would be a more viable alternative. Using Rosa Luxemburg's seminal text 'Social Reform or Revolution?' as a starting point, we discuss why we, as socialists, believe only revolution can deliver true political change.
