National Shop Stewards Network conference

The post election horse-trading has revealed that all three main parties see "reducing the deficit" as a priority. But most trade unionists realise that this really means "making the working class pay for the crisis". Public services, jobs and pay will be sacrificed to pay for the bankers' and bosses' mistakes, unless workers' resistance is organised.

Next month's conference of the National Shop Stewards Network (NSSN) comes at a vital time for the trade union movement. The NSSN unites trade unionists from the public and private sectors.

Speakers will include Matt Wrack, general secretary of the FBU; Steve Hedley, RMT London; Pedro Rodriguez, Workers Commission, Madrid; Terri Kelleher CPSU Ireland; and Chris Baugh, assistant general secretary of the PCS.

There will be workshops on many issues, including fighting the cuts, organising against racism and fascism, building the trade unions amongst young people, and climate change.

Make sure you book a place at this important meeting.

NSSN conference 2010

Saturday 26 June, 11am. South Camden Community School, Charrington Street, London NW1 1RG (near Kings Cross/St Pancras).

To register send £5 to NSSN, PO Box 58262, London N1P 1ET, with your details, including workplace and trade union.

Encourage your trade union branch or workplace to sponsor the conference - suggested minimum £20.
