Them & us: “Careless millions” & Tory BBC buddies

It’s estimated that Nadim Zahawi –Tory chair, government minister and former chancellor – failed to pay £3.7 million in tax. Zahawi said that his unpaid tax was a “careless – and not deliberate” error.

With a penalty, he paid a £5 million settlement. How much money do you have to have to ‘carelessly’ forget to pay almost £4 million?!

Richard Sharpe is a former banker. He’s donated £400,000 to the Tories.

He’s advised Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak. He helped Boris Johnson get a £800,000 loan.

He said the BBC “is fighting against” its “liberal bias”. And he’s so rich that when the Tories appointed him to his BBC chair job, he said he would donate his £160,000 salary to charity. Easy when you’ve amassed an estimated fortune of £200 million.
