A protest, 100-strong, stood with Palestinians in Coventry city centre on 9 October. Speakers said how horrific the events unfolding are.
Many protesters spoke about the relentless pressure on the conditions the Palestinians face. The ruling class in Britain and the government in Israel have no intention to ease bloodshed for civilians.
Coventry Socialist Party members spoke with people from the Palestinian community. They told us that “the only ones that are gonna stand up for us are socialists”. And many were angry with the position taken by Keir Starmer’s Labour Party.
Capitalism does not have a solution to the national question in Israel-Palestine. The Socialist Party calls for the immediate withdrawal of the Israeli military from the occupied territories and an end to Israeli state terror.
