GMB union members at Gosport Asda store, in Hampshire, walked out for 48 hours on Friday 9 February. In all weathers, the members stood firm on the picket line against manager intimidation and harassment, and caused disruption to trade.

The members had balloted before Christmas over a catalogue of 21 points, primarily around health and safety concerns, cuts to hours, poor contracts and bullying from management.

Several other stores across the country, including Wisbech, Lowestoft, Brighton Marina, Brighton Hollingbury and Skelton, have either begun or are beginning to ballot their own members for industrial action.
