In the latest strike at Amazon Coventry, GMB union is making a serious renewed push for statutory recognition. On the 19 March picket line, an organiser stressed to the pickets that Amazon will do whatever it can to stop recognition, so they must fight harder to win it.

GMB’s new leaflets encourage workers to join, but also give the option to just back recognition. Last year saw a three-month gap between strikes, but this year has seen two rounds of strike action already. GMB probably have close to a majority of the site’s workforce in the union, but this extra push shows they’re taking no chances.
