Workers at Valley Vets at four sites in Cardiff are taking two weeks of strike action to demand fair pay for workers and fair fees for customers.

The company is owned by Vet Partners, which is worth £3 billion, but bosses have offered just 1-1.5% pay increases.

This is the first strike by private veterinary workers in British history, by workers in the British Veterinary Union, part of Unite. 

Workers are proud of the service they provide to pet owners and are concerned that the company is overcharging. Big profits are made at the expense of workers and pet owners.

The industry is being investigated by the Competition and Markets Authority.
