For more than a year there has been no end to the massacres and atrocities carried out by Israeli state forces in Gaza. Palestinians in the West Bank face constant brutality. Ordinary people in Lebanon too now face bombardment and incursion. Across the Middle East, people live in fear of war spiralling into a deeper regional conflict, with still more suffering.
In a fresh act of cruelty, Israeli politicians have voted for a legal ban on the United Nations agency delivering aid to Palestinians. The consequence: further hunger and disease.
What way out is there from the seemingly endless violence? What is at the root of the world’s wars and conflicts? and what can be done about it?
On 9-10 November in London, hundreds of socialists and working-class activists will come together to discuss those questions and more. Those attending both days will have the opportunity to attend four out of a total 36 discussions, included among them: How is a Palestinian state realisable? Where now for the Iranian revolution? What is the role of the Israeli working class?
And if you have your own questions, related to those issues or any others, that you want to put to socialist activists – this is your chance.
On the Saturday evening, those hundreds of activists will come together to for a rally: ‘Build the socialist opposition to Starmer’s war and austerity agenda’.
Speakers will report from the struggles of workers and young people, putting forward the next steps forward in how to build the socialist opposition to Starmer, linking this to the need for socialist change in Britain and worldwide.
