Nina Brown, Kent and East Sussex Socialist Party
The Socialist Party met in Ashford to campaign on the housing crisis, and for reinstating winter fuel payments. We’re a spread out Socialist Party branch, and with poor public transport links in the area, it’s the first time that we have done a stall in Ashford.
It was really positive, with lots of good conversations with people who had direct experience of these issues, and other council cuts. We met three new people interested in the Socialist Party.
We then had a public meeting discussing the council cuts, and how to fight them. We also discussed the need for an anti-cuts option at the ballot box, and further building the Kent and East Sussex Socialist Party branch.
Join us on Thursday 13 February, 8:30am, in Maidstone, to lobby the Tory county council in Kent to fight against the cuts.
