Disgusting atrocities against ordinary Palestinians, growing inequality, poverty and repression, the slide to deeper climate catastrophe. The world, led by super-rich billionaires all pursuing their own profit interests, is in crisis. Young people’s futures are under threat.
US President Donald Trump, the archetypal billionaire bigot, is visiting Britain 25-29 July to play golf on his two Scottish golf courses. And Britain’s prime minister Keir Starmer will pay him a visit for an informal chat. Excusing the Israeli state’s brutality in Gaza, making the working class pay while the rich get richer, and backing policies which will see climate change getting worse – they do have quite a lot in common!
Both are also widely disliked, particularly by young people. Trump will face protests in Scotland. And when he comes back to Britain for his state visit on 17 September, we want to make sure he is met by even bigger protests.
