Large demonstration against privatisation at Sussex university
Up to 2,000 students marched through Sussex university campus (Brighton) today, Monday 25 March, against privatisation of services.
All the cafés were occupied in the morning alongside the already occupied Bramber House.
Protesters wore yellow squares pinned to their jackets as a campaign symbol and most of the trees on the campus have yellow ribbons tied in the branches.
Protesters then went into Sussex House where the Vice Chancellor’s office is and held the building until riot police were sent in. The police were met with chants of “hands off our campus”.
After the demonstration many students went to support the Bramber House occupation.
