NUT executive opposes participation in 14 October strikes

On Friday afternoon, the National Union of Teachers executive committee met to consider its attitude to the motions on the TUC Congress agenda and to consider its ongoing Stand Up For Education Campaign.

All on the executive agreed to call on the NUT TUC delegation to vote for motions supporting calls for coordinated strike action. However, a majority voted against the NUT taking coordinated action alongside UNISON, GMB and UNITE on 14 October.
